Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.
This is the slogan which will be printed on London Buses from January 2009 in a project by the Atheist Bus Campaign.
Initially, the aim of the campaign had been to print the slogan on 30 busses running in London for four weeks. Since the start of the campaign on October 21 however, already over £90,000 have been donated exceeding the initial target of £5,500 by far.
The aim of the campaign is to
brighten people’s days on the way to work, help raise awareness of atheism in the UK, and hopefully encourage more people to come out as atheists. We can also counter the religious adverts which are currently running on London buses, and help people think for themselves.
It is officially supported by Richard Dawkins, bestselling author of The God Delusion, who contributes £5,500 himself, saying
“This campaign to put alternative slogans on London buses will make people think – and thinking is anathema to religion.”
The plan is now to extend the campaign across all of the UK.
