Word of the day: Wallfall profits

Wallfall profits are windfall profits that arose from the falling of the Berlin Wall.

Found in a SPIEGEL article on European CO2 emissions, which notes that Germany won’t have a lot of problems achieving its emission targets under the Kyoto treaty as merely decomissioning the East German industry shortly after reunification took care of most of the needed reduction.
